I know I'm going to be in the minority here but I've pretty much stopped listening to it.
Lauren Laverne is OK I suppose but I miss Keaveny in the morning.
As soon as Mary Anne Hobbs comes on I just can't listen.
I don't think anyone in the history of annoying voices even comes close. I realise it's probably just me but I think they've shot themselves in the foot.

I now listen to Lauren all the way to work, the dead zone was because I CBA with Keaveny, he was OK over breakfast but nothing worth the data for (I had more than enough) LL plays a much better range of good music - might be I think that because we are the same age though

I'll listen to MAH, enjoy weekends and still glad Cerys kept her slot as it's perfect Sunday morning stuff

Overall enjoying it and as the other thread said off to see Craig Charles and the rest in Liverpool

Keaveney was awful in the morning and only marginally less so in the afternoon. Lauren is ace.

I seem to be in the same minority. Pretty much stopped listening which is strange as the entire remit of the station is to be aimed at me!! I wasn't ever particularly keen on LL as I find her broadcast style a bit unbearable but only occasionally heard parts of the old show anyway. I rarely listen to her breakfast show now and MAH has such a similar style (not sure who started it / influenced who) that I'm not particularly interested in that show either. While Keaveny was ok in part on the breakfast show I find him almost completely unlistenable on the afternoon show. To be fair I think that's in part because a straight transpose of the morning show style to afternoon didn't work at all and the team are still finding their feet. I'll probably try again in six months or so when hopefully he will have some decent established features and a more settled style.
I do like Marc Riley's show but rarely think to listen to the radio at that time of day.

See what is that? I'm not sure as I love some bits and miss others. If you are in the mood to expand your taste it works really well

I like LL but don't listen much at breakfast time, sometimes catch the list hour and enjoy it.

Kershaw I can't stand, MAH is more listenable now than I've found her in the past, maybe she'll grow on me.

Shaun Keaveney I find totally unlistenable. I caught 10 minutes of his show today and turned it off. Other day in the car I managed 5 minutes. Tom Robinson was in for him yesterday, much better 🙂

Rad mac I've been enjoying on catch-up 🙂

Think I must be the only person who likes Shaun Keaveney. Guess there might have been some truth to the dead zone listener figures...
I moved to Canada in January and with the time difference I still get it as my breakfast show, so I’m happy.

Beyond that I don’t get a chance to listen to it much - my colleague in the office has sports-talk radio on all day and I’m not sure he’d appreciate the eclectic mix you get on 6 music.

I miss radmac but I like Mr Keaveny any time of the day and I really enjoy Nihal on 5live!

LaLa = massive upgrade on Keaveny
MAH = massive downgrade on LaLa
Keaveny = massive downgrade on RadMac (whose consignment to weekend breakfast only is a national scandal)
Lamacq = has compromising photos of whoever is in charge.

Overall bit of a wasted opportunity. I used to enjoy Keaveny but his one joke (about how stale his own show is) has become really quite tiresome.

I like a bit of Lauren. She plays some great stuff, and I love the Maths of life thing and the electrical appliances that sound like song sections bit.

Mary Anne? Hmmm. A lot of the music she plays I'm into, but I'd rather not hear about how everything 'just touched the very core of my soul' or some such ballcocks.

Keaveny I've gone off in the afternoon. His tone suited the morning better. His Friday pub thing is a bit cringe worthy. I share a workshop with a radio 2 listener and am always conscious of what he's banging on about out loud when I've chosen the radio station 😂

Still quite like Steve Lamaq but hate all the shouty Slaves stuff he evangelises.

RadMac are great. Really miss them in the afternoons.

Six music was always a massive treat for me as I never got to listen to the radio in my previous job in a college. Now I work for myself and listen most days, what once seemed endlessly varied, has now shown itself to be the playlist heavy content that all stations have. Still massively better than anything else though.

Oh Christ... Today is Radio 2 Steve Wright No G thing. Makes me want to curl up and die of cringe. Hopefully the station is my choice today! 😳

Chris Hawkins is great and I much prefer Lauren to Keaveney. So it’s on from when I get up until I get sick of MAH and then it gets turned back on after Keaveneys gone off. Miss radmac on weekdays.

It seems to have been more upbeat and dancey recently which may have been due to Keith Flints sad demise but I like it (thanks Keith).

I'm 48, my work collegue is half my age and couldn't stand it, I'll try again as a test...

I just want daily RadMac... is that too much to ask?!?

I liked Keavny at breakfast, and don't mind him in the afternoon.

LL isn't my cup of tea
MAH is just awful, breathy waffle
Lamaq is ok I guess, but pretty much every time someone sits in for him, no matter who, I prefer them...

Got a new car recently, it doesn't do DAB, the FM alternatives are dire 😔

I was going to start a thread about this yesterday too. LL is great. MAH is far better than expected. I hated her weekend shows when she started her droopy talking about the aural landscapes, she has cut down on the crap she talks, she still isnt great, but an improvement. SK is still rubbish, loves the sound of his voice far too much.Steve Lamacq, never even turn it in now when he is on.
The best R6 shows are still Marc Riley (sadly missed this week as hes away) and Gideon Coe.

I used to listen to keaveny on my commute in the mornings but find the hawk unbearable so just stick on Spotify and CBA to turn it off for ll when she comes on. Had already got tired of lamacq on the way home and stopped listening to him before the reshuffle.

I've switched to absolute radio, if you sign up adverts are minimised and less bollocks talked. Plus they have multiple stations covering each decade since the 60s.

I've been listening to more 6 music - especially LL in the morning - partly to avoid the endless B word news on 5 iive but mainly because of Lauren

I listen to RadMac, Riley and LaLa catch-up, some MAH as she does play some good music and witters less in her new slow, still annoying though. I didn't use to mind SK in the morning but he just doesn't work for me in the afternoon.
I still can't believe RadMac were moved to a shit early morning weekend slot and Lamac remains.

Funny how everyone likes different things 🙂

I find Keaveney unbearable and quite enjoy the Hawk on my quiet drive to work.

I'm the same as you OP, I don't listen at drive times now as I loved keaveney in the morning. Don't like LL or lamaq

Only get to listen if I'm doing DIY at weekend and get to listen to Giles Petersen. Love GP, Coe, Riley , radmac, Charles, ravenscroft when he's on

LL is okay, MAH prattles on too much and it bugs me, so I'll just listen to something else.

SK is only just bearable. RadMac & Gideon Coe can do no wrong in my book!

Lamacq = has compromising photos of whoever is in charge.

*pretty much unlistenable. Worse in the afternoon that at breakfast. Features are dull, repetitive and just not funny.

MAH = has cut down on the valium and beta blockers. seems to be coming out of hibernation a little now.

Yeah, I like it. LL is great in the morning, better than Keaveney. MAH is growing on me. Keaveney in the afternoon -well not RadMac quality, but ok and I don't get much listening time then anyway. Love Craig Charles. We need more of that.

If lamaq has compromising pictures of the 6 music controller then I can only presume that Liz kershaw currently has the 6 music controllers children bound and gagged in her basement fitted with explosive vests

Think I must be the only person who likes Shaun Keaveney.

I do, and have enjoyed him even more so in the afternoon.

I think I must be the only person who hates Radcliffe & Maconie (well other than my wife, who hates them even more than me), dull boring middle of the road. Glad they have been moved to the weekend so only have to switch stations twice a week rather than 5, though would have liked it even more if they had been moved to Radio 2 where they belong.

Is that a case of joke well played, or a self-fulfilling prophecy?

---

And while I'm here, perhaps one of you lot would care to explain what the joke or reference is with Marc Riley's *Manic Q&A*?

I like LL but dislike her choice of dancey music. I can cope.

I like SK, but more often than not am driving if I have the radio on, so can't hear him unless the volume is way up high.

RadMac - love them, but why on earth do they start at 7? Surely a natural slot for the weekend would be 8-11 or 9-12? If the latter then I'd have the radio on all morning.

Lamacq, so boring. Often he's is swapped for a cheesy rock station.

And somebody mentioned news.. Why is there a news broadcast every 30 minutes in the morning? It's 7am, nothing'd happened in the last 29 minutes since you mentioned Brexit..

Fine with LL & MAH (although hate the preview 'chat' they have together prior to MAHs show starting) but can't listen to SK in the afternoon; too much like a breakfast show host (understandably) for the afternoon slot... normally go on to BBC Sounds and find something on there so yesterday i listened to Craig Charles's Funk & Soul show instead

Keaveny to LL - not good

Rad/Mac to weekend - not good

LeMaq just not good anyway.

Overall - not good move IMO

LL does play good tunes, but I liked Keaveny jokes and inferences, don't dislike LL but she doesn't make me laugh.

I don't mind LL, but the wife doesn't like her so we rarely have the radio on in the morning now.

We both can't stand MAH. She said something the other day about "finding your inner creative soul." It's that type of nonsense that makes her un-listenable to me.

I don't mind SK, but I can understand why he'd wind some people up. Preferred radmac in the pm.

I don't mind lamaq, but I'm a Brit-pop kid so he plays a lot of stuff I like. He's still a bit annoying though.

Marc Riley is good, I like Huey, Iggy, Craig Charles, but I don't listen to much of their shows to be honest.

I like it when Ravers sits in for someone, think I heard John Hopkins the other day and liked that.

I'd be happy if they gave Adam Buxton a show again!!

MAH is mildly annoying but she seems less pretentious than Lauren, so even though some of her music choices are deeply odd, she's more listenable. The LTJ Bukem mix this morning was great.
Steve Lamacq is just unlistenable though. It amazes me that he's still there in his 4pm slot, droning away and just playing the same 20 songs day in day out.

My routine used to be listen to RadMac live then Keaveny on listen again, but the reshuffle that's not possible, so I'm listening to 6Music less than I used to.

I preferred Shaun in the mornings but think he will settle into the afternoon and make it work.

When Lauren first started on 6music it took me a while to warm to her, now I really enjoy listening to her shows.

I’d rather Nimone or Ravers got the mid morning slot to Mary Ann Hobbs. Something about her voice...

Controversially, I used to enjoy Georg Lamb. *ducks for cover*

I have noticed over the last year or so that 6music’s playlist has got larger. Before it seemed the shows had more of a feel that the dj’s played the tunes they wanted to and there were fewer songs you’d hear repeatly throughout the day. Or it could just be me.

I've rediscovered Radio Caroline and my shazam has never been busier. Not a whole lot of current music but lots of new old.

When I do dip back into 6 there is too much talking and not enough guitars.

I absolutely love Lauren Laverne in the morning. I like Mary Ann Hobbs as well.

All the middle aged men who play back to back shouty guitar music started to get a bit tiresome so I'm all for the new line-up.

Working shifts, and with a job that’s entirely outdoors, the only time I get to listen is in the car, from around 06.29 to 06.50 then 16.10 to 16.40, or 09.29 to 09.50 then 19.10 to 19.40. I might get to listen if I’m in the car over the weekend for a bit, or sometime in the morning, but that’s it, so the reshuffle has barely registered, and I wouldn’t really be bothered anyway, al, I care about is the variety of music being played.

i tend to spotify through the day now but 6 music is ok in the evenings and weekend. Riley and ravenscroft are my faves. Chris Hawkins is the one i can’t stand though.... he’s such a wet fish. MAH is pretentious but does play some ok stuff.

I'm listening (now!) to the Don Letts' Culture Clash - great music, well worth tuning in or on catch up later.
