I found it depended how much I'd been drinking.

You need to take a deeper toke before the exhale
I used to use that method with both of ours - just found it worked rather than being taught it.
Problem was
a) they'd often just pick up the crying if you tried to put them down so you'd be doing it for a long time.
b) as they get bigger it's hard work keeping them held out at arms length like that.
c) if my wife did it they always carried on crying as they reckoned they'd get a chest feed out of it so I was the only one able to do it.

Plus, daughter is now 5, and whenever she thinks I'm nagging or telling her off, she blows in my face and tells me to calm down 😀
