Hi folks. I run a successful bike rental company on the Greek island of Rhodes and need to find the above. I can't find anyone on the island that can do it. I've been doing it myself since the business started but it's getting too busy now for me to do everything.. is there any place I can advertise or forums etc??

Perhaps need to advertise salary, working hours, pension, accommodation in an appropriate place? Posting as you have would suggest naivety or, an attempt to recruit on the cheap? There are lots of enthusiastic bicycle mechanics but the gloss does wear off and reality sets in!

Try the nearest Turkish town/resort; Marmaris, for example, is a short ferry trip.
Are you offering accommodation or could you pay a supplement to stimulate interest?

Try the Jobs section on pinkbike, I think there's a more international audience there, and probably more younger people too. I bet there's a few young 'uns who'd be up for relocating for this, I know I would have once upon a Julember.

Thanks for replies. Never knew there was a job section on here so will put it in there. It would obviously be better suited to an EU worker as anyone from the UK could only do 90 days in 180. All the relevant details would be in the ad, not on a post asking about where to put it. Will also put it on pink bike if they have a jobs section.

Speaking as one who does bike hire as a job it will be like here but with sunshine and having to deal with some very difficult people who expect lightweight niche bikes for buttons. They will trash the bikes and blame you for poor maintenance or ride on and destroy things instead of asking for help.
Some days it's quite a pleasant job to do though!

I wasn't thinking of anything posh though. Just some cheap singlespeeds next to a nice flat promenade, maybe riding distance from Barcelona. Then I could nip off to La Poma bikepark for a jump session, then Vallnord on the weekends for proper DH riding. Go for a nice dip in the sea after work.
My current employer is getting terrible value for money from me today.
I believe a UK person can stay longer and work if the job has been advertised and not filled locally. It's the same as most UK ski resort staff in EU. There is a bit of paperwork and visa stuff to do but can be done. Does also require local EU minimum wage. so you can't get some UK teenage slacker out there and pay them a pittance..
