According to Jamie Oliver, fish pie is really nice with beans and tomato ketchup. That sounds very wrong, until you try it. Then it makes a lot of sense

Haddock drained and cooling off. Prawns peeled and cooked. Roux currently cooking slowly for a few minutes before being made up to a nice fishy sauce (steady...STEADY there durrty boys) with the milk reserved from the poachin'

Roux made - nice and easy as the milk was still warm from the poachin'

It's a lovely smooth roux - but I feel it needs just a touch of cheese. Spuds just on the cusp of ready to mash - lots of milk, butter and salt.

iDave, sorry, this is probably more of a day-off meal for you. ๐Ÿ˜›

Bastid! I'll most likely be putting flat miles in although maybe a little jaunt into the Cotswolds could be on the cards.

Right all done...

Spuds boiled and ready for mashin' on left. Smooth slightly cheesy roux on the right...
[IMG] [/IMG]

Haddock & prawn sauce...
[IMG] [/IMG]

And topped with mash. All roughed up ready for crispy peaks in the oven later...

Great work there Mr40DD.

I've opted for some fine burgers topped with stilton, roasted pancetta and beetroot. All washed down with a few Peroni and a bottle of Rioja. A copy of Senna ready in the DVD player and a free house... happy days.

Thinking of scrambled eggs and more pancetta for breakfast.

Coming back to the original question....

Not much. Hardly at all.
Left to myself I starve.
I might manage to make some toast for breakfast, and open a can of sardines later in the day, but that's it. Oh, and I hate/ can't do cooking....other than something on toast.

I'm just so wrapped up in other stuff. I have always been this way.

TSY. I know what you are, who you follow and it kills me inside.

Let's just try and ignore it and move on.

Jeez. Sorry bout your nan.

I am not that bothered as it was her time, but Dad is cut up. Oh and that is before I get on to his 4 sisters trying to contest the will. A long story I will regale you with sometime ๐Ÿ˜‰

By cunningly eating the same based on the day of the week, I don't have to think about feed. eg, it's Friday, so that's Tuna sandwiches and cheese on toast.

Inspired by a sardines on toast thread earlier I had mackerel on toast with hot pepper sauce, then went out and spent all of this afternoon thinking around doing a massive chilli to last the week. cooked it all up had some. not satisfied. so put some veggies mashed in garlic paste in to roast to go with the chilli. totally stuffed. hmm, now I fancy some cheese, they must be reducing some at tesco by now, I'll pop down to check. Currently eating saint augur n jacobs savours. now thinking about sticking that reduced pizza in the oven. or maybe defrost some prawns and do something with the jalepenos for tomorrow... etc etc, just goes on!

I think about food when I'm hungry, which is about twice a day - always thinking about my next coffee though.

I haven't read all of the posts but at a skim i saw a lot about soya. You may think Im being mellow dramatic but stay away from soya at all costs. Its really bad for you due to having a large amount of hormones. This can cause problems such as a low thyroid. Soya based formula for babies is equivalent of giving them 5 birth control pills a day. not a laughing matter......
