Haddock poachin'
Spuds (King Edwards FTW) peeled, chopped and ready to boil for the mash.
what will the haddock be served with 32F?
looking for ideas for this evening
According to Jamie Oliver, fish pie is really nice with beans and tomato ketchup. That sounds very wrong, until you try it. Then it makes a lot of sense
Haddock drained and cooling off. Prawns peeled and cooked. Roux currently cooking slowly for a few minutes before being made up to a nice fishy sauce (steady...STEADY there durrty boys) with the milk reserved from the poachin'
How much of your day do you spend thinking about food?
6.4823 seconds.
so prawns stuffed with haddock? any spuds/veg/fruit/cheese?
Tommy K. No.
Baked Beanz. Oh yes!!
Roux made - nice and easy as the milk was still warm from the poachin'
It's a lovely smooth roux - but I feel it needs just a touch of cheese. Spuds just on the cusp of ready to mash - lots of milk, butter and salt.
iDave, sorry, this is probably more of a day-off meal for you. ๐
I'm doing a big hilly ride tomorrow = I REALLY want mashed spuds tonight...
That's you, that is! ๐
iDave - where are you riding?
From Geneva up to the Jura with some mates, but an hours ride for me to get to the start of the ride. Really craving spuds now...
Bastid! I'll most likely be putting flat miles in although maybe a little jaunt into the Cotswolds could be on the cards.

Dibs on leftovers.
Great work there Mr40DD.
I've opted for some fine burgers topped with stilton, roasted pancetta and beetroot. All washed down with a few Peroni and a bottle of Rioja. A copy of Senna ready in the DVD player and a free house... happy days.
Thinking of scrambled eggs and more pancetta for breakfast.
In the post Jimmers. It's as un-iDave as possible mind. ๐

Cheers. Pop a candle on it as it's my birthday today.
Have you seen Senna yet TSY? Enjoy if you haven't (or even if you have).
Nope, first viewing... it's supposed to be a good un though right?
Happy Birthday Jimmers!

Combien this year fella?
Coming back to the original question....
Not much. Hardly at all.
Left to myself I starve.
I might manage to make some toast for breakfast, and open a can of sardines later in the day, but that's it. Oh, and I hate/ can't do cooking....other than something on toast.
I'm just so wrapped up in other stuff. I have always been this way.

Serious??
Would you by any chance like a machine to dispense those jelly beanz? Seeing as its your birthday? I have one I no longer need.
Serious??
Yup. 32.
Just waiting for sister and bro-in-law to come over to cook me tea and apparently my sis has made me a Daim cheesecake.

I guess it would make me more classy that just sticking my face in the tub.
Email me over the weekend to sort it aaaaht. Unless it's going to be a million squid for postage, as imagine its quite bulky.
You off the beans then?
Oh, and check out the awesome card, me mum just gave me:
I'll get an approx price for postage from the web
Royal Mail site has been knackered for several days. Price finder was down earlier. Good time to rejig the website....just before xmas.

Enjoy the footie tomorrow.
Christ, someone doesn't like you then!
TSY. I know what you are, who you follow and it kills me inside.
Let's just try and ignore it and move on.
Jeez. Sorry bout your nan.
I am not that bothered as it was her time, but Dad is cut up. Oh and that is before I get on to his 4 sisters trying to contest the will. A long story I will regale you with sometime ๐
By cunningly eating the same based on the day of the week, I don't have to think about feed. eg, it's Friday, so that's Tuna sandwiches and cheese on toast.
Being a [s]boy (man, chap, bloke - whatever iDave)[/s] girl I'm usually too busy thinking about sex
me too, but the rest of the day I think about what i'm having for tea
happy birthday Jamie
Inspired by a sardines on toast thread earlier I had mackerel on toast with hot pepper sauce, then went out and spent all of this afternoon thinking around doing a massive chilli to last the week. cooked it all up had some. not satisfied. so put some veggies mashed in garlic paste in to roast to go with the chilli. totally stuffed. hmm, now I fancy some cheese, they must be reducing some at tesco by now, I'll pop down to check. Currently eating saint augur n jacobs savours. now thinking about sticking that reduced pizza in the oven. or maybe defrost some prawns and do something with the jalepenos for tomorrow... etc etc, just goes on!
Pretty hard to ignore this season though, eh?
Stunning film. Now for ice cream ๐
I think about food when I'm hungry, which is about twice a day - always thinking about my next coffee though.
I haven't read all of the posts but at a skim i saw a lot about soya. You may think Im being mellow dramatic but stay away from soya at all costs. Its really bad for you due to having a large amount of hormones. This can cause problems such as a low thyroid. Soya based formula for babies is equivalent of giving them 5 birth control pills a day. not a laughing matter......
