(I only mountain bike but hear other people chatting about squash etc being the be all and end all of keeping fit)

swimmming, running, circuit training, hiking - if you can call hiking sport, more like an activity. Just like the variety really, I'd get bored if I only did one thing all the time.

For most folk, cycling is an activity, not a sport.

Surf a lot, run a lot, do weights, swim in open water, hike/walk. All helps cycling IMO.

As the onion says. Personally I ride bikes* for fun. I used to play hockey for sport.

* some mtbs, some road, some for commuting, some for shopping and another for the pub. Bikes are ace, but dont have to have fitness Nazism at their root. Leave that to pilates.

Judo since I was a nipper. Great for learning how to fall off without hurting yourself when you land.

Football. It hurts commuting the next day! But the riding makes me fitter for the football.

Aikido, like the judo above, helps with the falling off. Helps with the balance and good thigh muscles as well.

Used to do a fair bit of climbing, hardly any these days though. Still do some running. This was the best though:

(coming off the old slalom course on Windermere).
Then the killjoys banned it on Windermere, haven't done waterskiing for ages now either. ๐Ÿ™

I agree with the above, I cycle for fun, fitness is just a side effect.
I swim a bit as well but only when I can't go out cycling for some reason. Only do a mile or so at a time now too.

Is walking a sport?

You can get a gold medal at the olympics for it.

Do I win?

Was it a competition? Not that I can see.

Shall we all list every sport we have ever done?

Football, rugby and unicycle hockey every week. Not sure it helps with fitness, I'm normally knackered the day after which is half the week.

Target Shooting - 10M Air Pistol

Used to play Badminton and 5-a side each week but family commitments mean I'm unable to do them all and as I was taking too long recovering from injuries playing football I thought it best finish that first. Shit at golf, hate running, hate going the gym so just riding for me now.

Well the question was "how many" - I've only listed the ones I've done reasonably seriously - most of those I've competed in at a reasonable level - otherwise I could have added football, rugby, cricket, rounders, waterskiing, wakeboarding etc.

Did BP also steal your SOH, Mat?

Kiteboarding is the sport when it's windy. Biking when it's not.
