Minutes?
Wooooahhh! Slow down there Sport Billy.
You know how long of a drive that is? With kids aged 3 and 1?
mm.. could be a bit close to the bike leg of the tri I am doing.
😆
Is that the one that I'm doing the Tri part of?
It varies between 1200 in the summer (~10 hours biking, ~10 hours walking, ~2 hours weights) and 600 in the winter.
Around 800 mins her week I reckon, hour and a bit of bike commuting a day on average plus snowboarding / biking for a least 3 hours each weekend. When my ankle isn't broken that is. Don't count walking around and doing stuff in the garden etc...
Probably about 1200/wk. But not right now as I have a lingering chest infection.
5+ = over training
Wrong. Depends massively on intensity. I train (when healthy) roughly 6 sessions a wk. From a 40 minute recovery ride upto a 5hr zone 2 base ride. My normal wk would include a bias towards low intensity volume with a few tempo & higher intensity sessions thrown in (plus gym/core work).
Exercise physiology is sadly a hugely misunderstood topic. A little knowledge can, quite literally, be dangerous.
1600 ish
Why minutes? What's wrong with hours?!
About 1200ish:
120 mins commuting per day through the week
240 mins each day at the weekend
about 30 mins in PE
about 120 mins in Games
Roughly 3 1/4 the size of Wales every week.

Unless you keep a diary of excercise you are probably over estimating. Its all very well saying I do this, this and this but is it what you really do? Try a diary over 4 weeks and you might get a shock. TRY IT

Yes. I've got no problem doing the exercise, it's dragging my family around the place whilst I indulge myself that's the issue!
You can tell he's single without kids, can't you?
Hmm, not as much as many on here but no commute (I intend to start some lunhctime jogs this year but can't count them yet!)
Winter - 20 mins of stretches/press ups etc weekday mornings = 100
3 bike rides avarage 120 mins = 360
Add another 2 hours in the summer, more or longer day rides.
Plenty of running/dancing/fighting etc at the weekends (with my kids of course)
5-1500 minutes a week
mostly a lot closer to the 5 end 🙁
According to Endomondo, average of 550 minutes a week last year, and but only averaging 460 so far this year.
From that link...
"Too much cardio exercise has a number of harmful effects on the body:
increases oxidative damage
increases inflammation (the root of all disease)
depresses the immune system
decreases fat metabolism
disrupts cortisol levels
causes neurodegeneration"
- quick pass me another jammy dodger before I get diseased.
