Going to Twickenham in August and think I am going to book Holiday Inn at Brentford Dock to stay overnight. How close is it, will it be convenient for Twickenham and Richmond?

I'm from Yorkshire by the way and don't know London very well.

Cheers

Brentford is about 2.5 miles away, however you'll be able to get a bus to Twickenham or, more pleasantly walk through Syon Park, call in at the Apprentice, walk to Richmond - call in at a pub or 2 there, then walk along the river bank and have a last pint in the Swan before going to your ruggering.
You could catch a train but it'll be very, very busy.

You could also get a train from Brentford to Isleworth and walk from there through the waterworks. The trains are quiet and there is a good pub just before the waterworks.

The Royal Oak a good pub? Not sure about that but it is a meeting point for lots of rugby types before a game if that is what you are after. I think you need the 267 bus from brentford high st towards fulwell which stops in twickenham. Richmond is also easy to get to by bus from Brentford as well. Try Pappadoms restaurant in brentford - good indian food.

It has somewhere to stand outside and the beer is fine - we are not choosy - have you been to the Albany?
