Just opened a bottle and all I can say is what a foul disgusting taste. Brought it out of curiosity, wished I stayed curious now ๐Ÿ™

Try Leffe and Duval

Hoegarden is too sweet for my tastes

Leffe is still a bit sweet but Duval is lovely

I'll have the rest ๐Ÿ™‚
Are you normally a bitter or larger drinker?

Mmmm, lovely! Make your own with a lager kit and some oranges and coriander (five oranges and a Schwarzkopf refill to 5 gallons). Thank you Pierre Celis.

Kronenbourg Blanc is the next best thing, and marginally more available on draught in the UK.

Now you've got me thirsty and thinking about another trip to Belgium!

What's larger than bitter? A quart? Or do you become larger by drinking too much?

Hoegaarden is an acquired taste but one I have managed to develop ๐Ÿ™‚

I would never describe it as sweet though - quite the opposite.
One of the benefits of being here in Belgium is if you don't like one beer then we have a few thousand more you can choose from...

I get more pissed per pint on hoegaarden than anything else. It's crazy wappy juice, almost like skunk!

Great beer but yeah I'd say it's not really sweet.

Lovelly beer, although I must say I wasn't convinced after my first pint. Perhaps the taste will grow on you?

On tap is nicer, but only ever had it a couple of times. Not the most popular drink.

I actually tipped half of the second bottle away. This is not for me.

Yep - the alcohol-by-volume does not represent the true making-you-fall-over power of this stuff. It's not that alcoholic, but it acts like it is.

I had 2 bottles of Leffee once on a ferry crossing, it finished me off. I'm a cheap date and a lightweight but I can ride uphill forever! ๐Ÿ˜€
