Received a rebate from HMRC unfortunately the cheque has been made payable to my company which no longer exisits, bank account shutdown etc!

How do I cash the cheque, our bank has refused to do it!

If it's a crossed cheque then chances are you'll need to get HMRC to issue a new one. Good luck with that.

You'll have to get them to issue a new cheque in your name.

Yes you will have to go back to HMRC, be prepared to have to jump through a few hoops to get the rebate re-issued as HMRC will be concerend about other shareholders, potentail company bad debts etc

It is the company's money, how did you wind it up?

Open a new bank account with the same name.

Cash cheque.

Spend on soft drinks and rugby players.
