M google-fu is weak this morning, so help me find that place we stayed at in 2013 on the long drive back from Tuscany. It was somewhere along the A26. Helpful, I know.
It was one of those massive campsite complexes. It had a big water slide park and was on a lake with lots of water sports and a sandy beach. If this helps, they had a big floating trampoline just offshore on the lake and you bounced into the water. Pitches were perfect - tents or vans, quite private for a campsite as they were separate by trees. There were cafes and a couple of restaurants, an activity centre, bike paths. It was a few minutes from a nice sized village which had a fountain in the square. It was hot.
If not exactly there, what might be similar a 3-5 hour drive from Calais. Its me, two kids aged 13 and 11.
Been on Eurocamp and trawled google maps but nothing coming up. Any ideas?
check your credit card bills ?
Google Maps suggests Parc naturel régional de la Forêt d'Orient
Did you take any photos with your phone? They'll probably be geo-tagged (or have a sign with the name of the site somewhere)
Thanks all for suggestions. Dont keep credit card statements and online they only go back a year. Will call the bank to see. Been searching through all the pix but no geotags and not a single bit of reference material any of them. So will keep looking.
If anyone has enjoyed a similar type of place, be interested to know which one.
Not very helpful but I do not think its Foret d Orient. We were there last year. It is quite big and there are hedges, lake and a sandy beach with a couple of resturants but def no water slide or trampolines. It was packed out in July and pretty noisy late into the night
IT's BEHIND YOU!
I'll give you a clue by spinning you around telling you to go east.
