What an excellent thread!

And for anyone missing Lemmy, something from his earlier days.
I think this is the best version of this song by far....

Go back to the sixtees when the world was black and white and analog.
Have a look at say Ten Years After Woodstock set then think about the lack of loops and delays just a guitar and amp or indeed the whole of Woodstock.
Early Johnny Winter and Steppin Wolf might be worth a listen also a lot of weird shit about Mothers the Captain and Tiny Tim (?).
If only there was a back catalogue of John Peel radio from Caroline and R1 that would be something.
Lots of bands sprang up where huge then disappeared without trace apart from some obscure LPs that you might run across. Ckickin Shack, Waterloo Line, Family, and Edgar Broughton Band spring to mind.
Have fun.

I've got one to add. Not be mentioned as far as I could see: Oneida
They nuts. Many different styles, but when they rock, is good

Assuming these are done but can’t be arsed to check-

Slayer, Reign in Blood

This is the best 1980’s thrash album IMHO

Pj Harvey, Dry
Rid of Me

These are pretty heavy and she is just awesome.

Also Cult Leader, Code Orange, White Widows Pact, Bongripper, Power Trip, Creeping Death, Lowest Creature

Depending on your sense of humour.. Brutal slam through the eyes of Stella drinking, Essex tradesmen. What little lyrics you can understand are hilarious
