I've been a ****t and backed into a car. The only damage I can see is to the rear driver side door skin. Said car is 52 LandRover ES in camouflage silver.

How much to replace?

On a 52 plate, no point replacing just live with it.

Ebay then paint shop.

Some panel beaters can work magic though

New rear door/skin, painting, prep, strip down, refit. If done through insurers add courteousy cars and using big name body shops, £1k minimum. If done through a friendly local place for cash £350.

😆 😆 😆

About £500 from an independent. Go main dealer and double that.

The camouflage reference was a dig at my total incompetence to use my mirrors correctly, it's just plain old boring silver really.
Just spoken to blokey and he was really good about it and was shocked that I fessed up. I'm nice me. Long story short: he knows someone, £300 inc vat, job done.

You see what's happened here is your a nice bloke and did the right thing and so is he so he did the right thing too. That reassurance that not everyone on the planet is a self serving bawsack must be worth 300 notes in it's self!!!

I did similar, left a note and the guy said he'd call me in a couple of weeks, no hear yet and that was about a month ago, he was also surprised that I'd left my number (the last person to do that to my car didn't have the same courtesy)

I hate to be a pooper but with metallic you can't blend just the door and make a good job of it you need to paint the whole side of the car to ensure a match.

No you don't, any good paintshop & paint suppliers can match to the state of the paint as it is. Anyway it's an 8yr old landrover - it's supposed to have the odd battlescar!
