The tail pipes are wrong for a Dino though…

yep, but given the overall detail in the sketch… 😉

it i so an odd time of year to have a fancy car out for a spin

the grills in the sketch do suggest that the engine is behind the driver.

The sketch is quite an accurate rendition of a William Towns Hustler Sport 🙂

Which does raise the possibility that it could be an sort of kit car fantasy.

The OP didn't specify whether it was made of wood or had room for a coffin... or count the wheels

Yeah, my money is on a dino or dino replica/kit car... you wouldn't take out a real dino in this weather, unless you are totally mad!!

It's a £300k car lol!

Nah, they have square rear light units, not individual round ones.

Looks like Rodney and del boys reliant.

I think you need to take a numeracy test/course and then go count the wheels again

The Mini Marcos was really petite and seems to have had any number and configuration of lights on the back at different points by all of them round

C'mon OP, you should at least be able to rule out a Ferarri Dino, they are pretty distinctive looking!

It was the Bicester Scramble today, so there was plenty of very expensive cars on the roads (even if most of the really fancy stuff gets trailered).

"Deffo H from the 1970s"

H is 60s. 68/69?

H is '69-70.

I'd say Fiat 850 is the most likely.

It's potentialy a Fiat, but there's a bit of a visual difference between a Fiat and a Ferarri!

My uncle had a fiat coupe just like that green one above.
1300 twin cam, made all the right noises, and felt quick to 9yo me, but probably only had about 70bhp.

looked good irl though

I bet they are worth a lot of money these days... maybe not as much as a Ferarri Dino, though, to be fair.

Have they salted the roads recently ? If not, there's every possibility a Dino may be out and about. And they are tiny compared to today's cars...

Morecashthandash has it.

Fiat 850 for sure.

Thank you.

I think they have affixed the Dino badge for a laugh.

Did they really do that? just why? it's a classic car in it's own right, and they won't be fooling anyone.

It's a bit like when peole adverstise an M-sport BMW 3 series bimmer...it's not an M3, it's a diesel powed potato.

And if it looked crappy… Def Marcos.

You really think that looks crappy?

marcos

I don't think the OP drew a Marcos though, especially if that's engine louvres at the back

It was never going to be a marcos, the sketchy sketch of the rear end and the shape of the tail lights rule that out pretty easily.

Oh I agree it wasn't going to be a Marcos

But I stand by my point...

Mmmmmm sexy...

That almost works, it's like a mash-up of an E-type Jag, a Cobra, and some sort of Ferarri!

probably more like putting scuderia shield stickers in the front wings of a 90’s fiat 500. just a bit of ironic fun.

I wondered if it might have been an Alfasud; fantastic little sports coupé with a boxer engine, but like most British cars of the period, and all Italian cars, they’re incredibly rare because of iron moth. And no louvres.

Just had a thought, how about an Adams Probe 15?

There's a fair bit of Morris Marina in there too! It's hideous!

Another possibility - An old Renault Alpine? Though the OP's sketch does err towards a Dino..

Of course - there wasn't only Ferarri making a Dino

Fiat made a Dino too

I thought a Dino from the sketch. My girlfriend's grandad had one when I was at school. Blue it was, flipping gorgeous. I never got a go in it though (unlike the girlfriend 😉 )

Mk1 Opal Manta?

Had one of those, lovely car, I’d have another if I could find a good one, and do a retromod, upgraded running gear, and a modern Vauxhall/Opel motor with a better gearbox. An Opel GT would be nice, too.

But only by managing to find a Marcos that I don’t think anyone has ever seen or heard of! The Probe 15 was essentially a Marcos, built as it was by the boss of Marcos.

I was going to post the mini but on my quest to find a more ugly Marcos I stumbled on that.

I still stand by crappy, the GT has a nice shape but really look at it. Look at the door line, look at the uneven panel gaps, look at the massive valley at the bonnet line where the panels should transition smoothly, look at the quarter lights which clearly belong to a different car.

Crappy as in parts bin thrown together.

I'm with @martymac, looks like a Marcos to me. Particularly if it is bright yellow (a mate has one).
