Suffering a bit here and trying hard not to call/text her

What is the daftest thing heartbreak has caused you to do?

Being as cool as I was, I pumped many, many coins into a video game at an arcade and pretended the people I was beating up on screen were the guy I had lost out to. 8)

sleep with her [s]mum[/s] dad

Do it in style, don't move on to grand parents, that's over stepping the line.

You don't have to pay them you know.

I've always thought this was one of the great 'breaking up' songs;

no idea if it'll cheer you up though.

I turned an ex into a lesbian, that or she was in denial. Does that count as daftest thing you've done before or after?

I've never lived it down amongst my mates.

Been there. Shame I didn't know about her desires before we split up. Otherwise it might have been me posting this -

After a month or so I shagged her friend then went to visit the x and manged to receive oral pleasure before I washed from the previous encounter. Closest to a threesome I've had.

Was strangely satisfying, she found out a few months later, that didn't go so well.

Stupidest? Probably hitting the student bar at uni and caning most of a bottle of tequila, then getting emotional when the barmaid wouldn't sell me any more.

Compared to that, my ex-wife asking for a divorce was easy. I did a lot of DIY and quit smoking. Then moved house.

I went straight out with someone else.

Why waste your life mourning someone who is still alive and wants no part of you anymore?

Didn't take break ups well as young man. Broke up with a couple of long term girlfriends and struggled badly afterwards.

This may go some way to explaining why I'm cold hearted and emotionally dead nowadays 8)

With hindsight, the worst thing I did was try and win them back. Desperation is a deeply unattractive quality. Speaking with A LOT of personal experience, don't call, don't write, don't try and contact them. It sounds impossible but one of two things will happen:

a) They'll realise how much they miss you and they'll come after you

or

b) You'll forget all about them and move on

A and b will happen at the same moment though ๐Ÿ™‚

But if B really has happened, responding to a is rather satisfying.

Boardinbob speaks much sense. Wish I had worked that out at the time. What did I do? Gave her a credit card "in case she was in trouble". How stupid can you get? Ker-ching - she maxed it out on furnishings then tried to get the house etc off me.

Taught me a lot

Decided I needed a "hobby" to take my mind off things. Resurrected my latent interest in mountain bikes. Discovered this forum. Spent shed loads of money on bikes and stuff. Indeed, got a beautiful new Turner that cost a fortune, but looks beautiful, rides like a dream, never answers me back, is always happy for me to go out and leave her at home, is never too tired for another ride..... Sorry, what was the question again?
