Mods - do me a favour and delete this whole thread. It been hijacked and seems a waste of an idea.

On the contrary, it warms the very cockles of my heart that I've been able to highlight why this post might appear to some as a little bit icky-in-the-back-of-the-throaty.

God willing, and with a fair wind, we can all move forward and make STW a better place. 😉

But what I don't like is the hypocrisy that seems so prevalent

Oh please, spare us. You enter most threads with the sole intent of winding people up for your own amusement, and to try to pretend otherwise is pretty insulting. To then complain that the folk who call you out on it are the real bullies is just stretching credulity.

live by the sword, etc etc.

So you and DezB are deleting your accounts then? That would be awesome for the rest of us, thanks so much

I forgot to include nickc in that list of regular trolls/bullies... How remiss of me. 🙄

This place is truly amazing. I've reached out to the forum for advice on everything from holidays to depression (and occasionally bikes too) and have received so much help and guidance. My wife now suggests I ask here before I do.

Seriously, your an awesome bunch, keep up the good work.

Anal/Belly button gazing aside, the gnumas thread was amazing, funniest so far this year for me was the ^lunge office ride.

I like the boundary disputes and roadrage threads best... And a good tattoo thread warms my heart like nothing else. 😉

I like coming on here. been a good place in the past through some rough times.
met some good people, some who I now call good friends.

I don't come on as much nowadays. I tend to watch from the sidelines a bit more than I post.

there seems to be a hardcore few (some on this thread) that seem to want to do nothing but argue.
mosts threads seem to go the same way.

it has spoiled the forum somewhat.

Councilof10 actually provides a very valuable public service.

Maybe you've had a particularly good day? You've been reading positive threads where people are offering advice and being supportive, and maybe doing those very things yourself?

At times like that maybe its worth remembering that the world still contains a minority of nasty, cynical, joyless *s who's contribution to this forum, and society in general is overwhelmingly negative

And we should all thank him for that

Cheers Councilof10 for your ever-dependable *ishness! 😀

funniest so far this year for me was the ^lunge office ride.

I feel that faded out a little, so much expectation and excitement, the outcome was such a let down. The first 3 pages were magnificent though.

And anytime Shibboleth pops into a politics thread, always read his posts with this in mind:

I used to love this place... I'd stroll into a debate, drop one of my trademark slightly fascist or intolerant "thread bombs" and watch the liberals running round like headless chucks trying out out-do one another in the mock indignation stakes.
Now the liberals have cottoned on to my little game, and I'm not sure I like it!

The type of person who loves winding people up purely for their own amusement... Sad really.

Who remembers the thread about some guy having to take a laxative on a number of occasions for a medical examination?
Was pure class, about 7 years ago I think.

I got to meet you a couple of times via this forum Ton and it was a real pleasure - if only to stop you binning that Surly frame. 😉

Back on topic - the original Bullheart thread was emotional to read and made me realise how good and supportive folk could be to total strangers.
There's more good folk than eejits...and the eejits are easily ignored.

Hello all,

I'm unsure as to whether I'd still be here if it hadn't been for the original thread and the many respondents/well wishers' contributions, both online and in real life. It reaffirmed my faith in folk. It also enabled me to become someone with a greater purpose too. I've worked at paying that kindness back over the years because I wanted to, rather than simply feeling obligated to do so; unknown before my diagnosis.

Simply loved the gnusmas thread. As has been said, showed what this community is like.
A simple question turned into something magnificent for no other reason than it was the right thing to do.
And the depression thread recently showed that sometimes all is needed is a simple 'come out for a ride with me' to provide help when people need it.
