Barnes - just shut up.

Why? Because he says stuff you don't like?

Right this interested me so much I did a test. By luck my office is attached to a top end hifi shop. We have sky HD running into a 42" philips k9. Halfway through the rugby were watching I swapped the normal hdmi cable with a ****n expensive chord company active silverplus 1.3b cable. Did we notice the difference ? Yes I did but then I knew. Wife asked 10mins in had I changed something ?. Definitely perceptible difference. Not sure if we will keep it right enough as my Naim uniti arrives Tuesday so I am skint even though it was at cost !

I don't see how trying it helps as one's body is a highly inaccurate and subjective measuring instrument.

I offered you some times, you gonna ignore those?

Why? Because he says stuff you don't like?

Yes, he's flat out telling me I'm wrong with no evidence whatsoever, and no discussion. Plus he's hijacking the thread.

Because that's the exact spot my eyes fall when lounging on the couch. I'm not stupid, thanks

You clearly don't know how to lounge properly!

Barnes....are you going to dismiss Mrs NZCol as a'highly inaccurate and subjective measuring instrument.' ? We all know, women are NEVER wrong! ๐Ÿ˜†
Seriously though, that simple test shows the drivel in 'It's digital, it either works or it doesn't.' NZCol's TV went from working fine, to working differently (some may say better).

Digital - it either works or it doesn't - that's wrong.

An individual bit will either get through or not. Whether or not all the bits get through is another matter. Ever had poor signal on freeview or have bad weather obstruct your satellite dish? Yes, me too. What happens to the signal?

The higher the bandwidth of the picture, the more signal problems will look like bad picture and less like big funny coloured squares.

I'm just going on simple Newtonian physics. If you're significantly faster on the lighter bike it's because you're trying harder ๐Ÿ™‚ You need a double blind test.

Agreed. As far as I understand there is no error correction so if there is as error the receiving device is just meant to smooth over the error between adjacent pixels. Better cable = less errors = less smoothing or something like that.

In the end the wife detection test is the winner though ๐Ÿ™‚ . Now if only I could get that to work with bikes as well

not getting involved with the thread, just didn't want to see a good pendantry-opportunity wasted
