Brixton in November.
I know there'll be loads of haters but it's always a fantastic night, and this really is the last time you'll ever see them play live.
It's all sold out so I count myself amongst the lucky few.

Sure it'll be a great gig but I've had great memories of old gigs sullied by seeing reformed/reunited bands from my youth play recently. Best left alone.

It's the one gig that's never changed from when we used to see them 'back in the day'.
Saw them supported by EMF a couple of years ago and EMF were unbelievable...(no pun intended).

once was enough. the manics cancelled (Ritchey had carved 4 REAL into his arm), failed to get the Nirvana tickets, same for Henry Rollins. It was Carter I did get to 😥

i hope they're everything you want

Saw them a couple of years back. They did 2 albums back to back, 4 albums in total over 2 nights. Went to both, thought they were everything I could have ever hoped for.

Happy memories of the master butcher of Lea-on-sea.

Yes indeedy. I didn't realise it had sold out. Good job my mate was uncharacteristically organised! See you there 😀

Saw them lots first time round. First gig was in a shit upstairs club on the Cowley Road in Oxford. 18 months later they were one of the main acts at Reading. I liked them a lot, good attitude and great live. Good luck to them.

Saw them in 1991 in Treforest, Glamorgan.
They were ok. Wouldn't bother going again.
I like Sherif Fatman and Only Living Boy in New Cross. Can't remember anything else they did.

This thread reminds me of the Carter albums my sister used to play when I was about 4!

All I can remember from one song is "You fat bast**d! You fat bast**d! You fat bast**d!"

Saw them in the West Ref at Southampton Uni in about 1992, it was absolutely f-ing mental. I blacked out at one point, came to surrounded by a very substantial number of other unconscious people, got up and went back in for more. Happy days!

It's probably one of the only gigs where I don't feel like an old git either. The bar had better be fully stocked because I'm sure it was drunk dry at a couple of their previous outings.

Got mine last Wednesday in the pre sale.

Guitars and strobe lights. What's not to like?

If you buy this ticket today, it's not true what the advertisments say...

It'll be great though, even the half-assed Who's The Daddy shows were good fun and the proper Carter reforms have all been ace. Going to be travelling down from Scotland, totally worth it.

Also I'll probably be the youngest person there, I like that (I got into Carter when World Without Dave came out and saw them for the first time after their appeal had become more selective... I liked them after they were cool)

Saw that at Brixton 5 years ago, when Sultans of Ping were opening. Unfortunately missed the Sultans, but Carter rocked.

PWEI at the Aston Villa Leisure Center is my all time favourite gig. God knows when it was? Probably around 1991? They absolutely killed it live.

^ I think I was at that one. Ultramarine amongst the supports?

The poppies reformation gigs a few years back were good, although I'm not holding out much hope for Graham's version this summer.

If anybody missed out on tickets for this, they've just announced an additional gig Friday 21 Nov at Shepherd's Bush Empire. The original Brixton date will still be the last ever though - glad I've got my tickets for that!

I hitched from York to Villa for the PWEI gig and blagged a free ticket on the door to get in. Happy days. Seen them a couple of times over the last few years. They are still a good night but are missing the presence of Clint. Mary is a good stand in though and I loved Gaye Bykets on Acid back in the distant past.

I'm just going to name that as the Least Surprising Thing Ever 😆 Mmm, wonder if I should do both.

Typical. I paid what was for me at the time a considerable amount of cash to see The Stuffies last ever gig in 1995. They owe me that money back imo.

Yeah, annoying when that happens. I must have been to about 500 last-ever Wildhearts tours... I'm not going to boycott nine inch nails but I see there's a facebook muttering campaign to get everyone to wear their farewell tour t-shirts to the gigs 😉

I can't really face seeing re formed bands unless it's the original line up, and let's face it, Clint Mansel is doing very nicely for himself, so I can't see him getting all misty eyed and joining up with the Poppies again. Shame though.
Nine Inch Nails are basically Trent anyway so I'm sure he'll carry on doing stuff as and when he feels like it?

not sure I agree, they lost something in live performance maybe but the music improved from 8 lgm, thru Hub and beyond. I am firmly of the opinion that construction for the modern idiot was the best album. I realise I am in a minority in this though.

Hup was bob's last I think. I saw the first gig with the new bass player (jct 10 in Walsall) the following spring and was underwhelmed. Saw them a few times since, and they are also at BT (along with poppies, carter, hook doing new order set, culture shock etc etc 😀 )
