Not many folk were asking for cash from the bankers when their houses values were soaring. In fact most home owners were just sitting back and enjoying the lucrative ride. Let's levy a heavy tax on house sales and treble it if the house is not a main residence. I almost feel sorry for the bankers.

mtbfix - maybe not many home owners were full aware of the risky deals being done by banks? who have since been bailed out in a manner which they seem incapable of offering their customers. 'yes sir, when you can show that your business doesn't need an overdraft we'll be happy to supply you with an overdraft'.
