Was at my local last night enjoying some lovely IPA from the Tyneside Brewery.

Howaay and drink.

Oh, and an utterly mental imperial stout, aged in Pappy Van W bourbon barrels called "Bo and Luke". 14%. YEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I might take her out for a pint.

At the Old Cock Inn, perhaps?

She could have some cider.

IGMC.

Armed Forces Day in Lebanon and the People's Democratic Republic of China?

National Day in Benin and Switzerland?

Emancipation Day in Jamaica, Barbados, Anguilla, Bermuda, the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands and Trinidad & Tobago?

No, I know - Rastafrian Liberation Day!

My birthday too. I'm now an official senior citizen, free travel on Scottish buses. I can garage that bike and take the omnibus.

Emancipation Day

The same reason why it's Yorkshire day, something to do with William Wilberforce.

edit: darn, I got confused as to which special day thread I was reading.

You are also now legally entitled to have a house that smells of wee and cabbage.

The anniversary of the day Richard the Linoheart landed in Jaffa and ate all the cakes, so distressing Saladin's great army that they didn't put up much of a fight and took a real beating (1197)
Octavian entered Alexandria, bringing Egypt fully under the control of the Roman Republic. (30BC) Octavian later changed his name to Augustus then later decided to have a month named after him. This one.
Oh and Mark Antony killed himself, this day, that year.
Claudius' birthday (10BC) - Claudius was the roman god of overacting. And the fourth emperor, who, according to Mary Beard, wasn't as bad as Caligula, who wasn't as bad as history made him out to be although he probably went a bit mental if anyone called him Caligula
1980 - first democratically elected head of state assumes office. .
1714 - Richard Wilson born. I don't believe it, he's not that old

Even if IPA was indigenous to India, what was the point of your observation Edward?

No such thing as too much alcohol, just too little tolerance.

Apropos of not much, I once drank in a Belgian bar with Michael Jackson.

And that Citra Hops does look nice!
