Hi looking to take the Mrs to the Harry Potter Experience. Will be coming from Sheffield and most likely driving. Does anyone have any recommendations on hotels. Something a bit more upmarket than a Travelodge and within a 30 minute drive.
Alternative is to get the train and stay in London but train tickets may eat into the budget.
I was there in September, drove down from SW Scotland. Had a night in Stratford upon Avon, then down to Harry P place next day. We stayed in St. Albans for a night, which was actually quite a decent town, then up to Harrogate for a couple of nights.
Wee yin loved, and tbh, so did I, it's a really great place, I could've spent hours looking at the artwork for the film, and the scale model of hogwarts is uber impressive.
I'd try St. Albans or that area, plenty nice eateries too.
