A seasonal scene, best photo easily available at this time. Georgia love's the snow runs and throws herself across it on her back, DIY tobogganing

Not got any new pics, but here's some

We were out Saturday night and went past a big fireworks party - couple of huge bangs went off, I checked her and she was just jogging along next to me. She's a sweet hound is Hope.

Unfortunately we lost we lost mums dog Bracken to cancer (13) (at the back of the pic) last month. But Widget is going strong. And I think I might have put my foot down hard enough that Mrs S wont evict me if I get a dog next year. Thinking either another field spaniel or maybe a border terrier/patterdale for taking down the coppice.

[img] [/img]

Charleston "Charlie" Pickle, a previous dog. Unfortunately just a few months into my training him as a game retriever I found out he had epilepsy so he was relegated to house dog.
[img] [/img]

And the first two in my family (photo from sometime in the 80s)
Copper (fat, low slung, smelly-breathed) and Nickel - Ace Wing Commander Admiral Chalky Ginger Pheasantph**ker that he was.

Bracken and yours truly "at work"

Good thread Phil!

Right, that's it, I'm opening a doggie hotel. Gun dogs particularly welcome. 8) Can't commit to a dog full-time so this is the 'next best thing'.

c_g's rules dictate that sofas and beds are for me, not animals. Suspect there may well be some disappointment though. 😉

Bookings now being taken. 😀

Indy the terror pup (as a pup) - I'm trying to learn how to teach him to be a "proper" gundog. I'm failing him at the moment - he'll run out on command, stop on command, take direction - but I'm shocking at getting him to retrieve to hand. Must try harder...

thought you were going to say you can't hit the side of a barn if you're stood next to it with the old shotchucker! hence no game birds for him to practise with.

Morgan - been gone two years and it still hurts when I think about him

Ellie - left us last year aged 16... bless

Pickle, 5 months old...

Are you anywhere around the Test Valley? Or did Pickle come from that area, perhaps? Looks the spitting image of a breeder's spec from down that way! Lovely hound!

I need another dog. Seeing Darcy's hound makes me want a Border. But then I see all those Spaniels, and I want one of them too. Or maybe two.

Maximus.

Don't be fooled by the mincy jacket. I care not for his welfare; rather the ability to spot him chasing deer from a mile away. Bastard.

Toughest dog ever. Was cut open 6 weeks ago to remove a 9" stick that had pierced his armpit at high speed, and lodged itself in his gut. In April. Vet still cannot believe he survived. Apparently he has e-coli in his gut too...

Likewise - Indy is offended by the idea he couldn't bother pheasants...

Look. Here's one he caught earlier...

Also - he wants Stox to know that Indy is definitely a boy's name...

And Benson (2 years old - left) without the fancy dress with his best buddy Merlin (13 years old). Unfortunately Merlin passed away 5 weeks ago, but loads of piccies and memories
