Guising: as in (dis)guising. The practice of dressing up at Samhain so that the spirits wouldn't recognise you and cart you off to the "other world". Sadly re-imagined as "Trick or Treating"

hmmm.... Guising.

Nowadays comprises putting a 50p mask on; oooh I remember spending hours painting up paper-bag hero outfits etc etc. All for an aged apple & lint covered boiled sweet.
