Mini update - on PS3 in needs around 6Gb storage.
Edit - 8Gb not 6, writing is too small. Still loading!

In terms of story, characters and overall "atmosphere" they haven't bettered GTAIII in my opinion, so i'm keen to see what this is like.

Really? San Andreas was much better (best game ever IMO).
Mine arrive just before the trip to the vets for the dog back home now and GTA V is almost installed.
See you next month for online folks no swearing on the forum or other rule breaking whilst I'm gone.
Lifer, agree to an extent. SA was mind blowing in terms of size etc, I still dig it out today for the odd blast. Feltlike ssomething was missing though. Missions far more memorable in GTAIII, IMO. It also had Scientist on the dub radio station 😀

Driving is very similar to Need for Speed series the R8 is great fun.
Oh and careful when pulling into your drive if it's accidentally your neighbours he may step out infront of you resulting in him being crushed against his house. Just saying.

Don't play on my PS3 much, normally just multiplayer with mates, but I am going to have to get this.

Er, dunno, I like any genre if it's decent. I like intellectual content, which is why I liked GTAIV - the story was interesting. Infamous otoh was only mildly diverting in a run up and down buildings/zap stuff spectacularly sort of way, the story and acting was properly risible.
Currently over-gamed anyway - need to finish Liberty City stories, then I have to get back into XCOM, and I haven't even opened The Last Of Us yet! Ok so it was free with my console.
I think I'll rush through LCS and get GTAV though, the rest can wait.
Apparently there are local references in the game, such as the tram works. What else have you found?

Grum, I think a lot of places are doing refurbished s/h PS3s for ~ £100.00 now. Guy I work with was looking at some in Game for that price AFAIK.

I've not really played console games since I bought a PS1 but I have to say that seeing all the trailers and reviews plus the £199 Tesco deal is making me very tempted to buy one and irritate Mrs R.
I don't usually have the time to play games for hours but having enjoyed a couple of the very early GTA games I should probably re-evaluate my life priorities.
