BBC 2 is doing programme 9.30Pm tonight called the truth about immigration. Lets hear your opinions as I may have to watch it on catch up!!!
heheh, nice rant title
3/10
Is it a conspiracy of gayers, communists, and gay communists?
Harsh must be worth more than 3/10!
SD-253
3/10 is being generous. No speelin mistaks and no, random! Punct?uation£
Also. Nice to see you're viewing it with an open mind.
BBC doesn't agree with me and is therefore Bias SHOCKER!!!
I'm genuinely flattered and proud that so many people want to come from other countries to live in the UK. I love that fact I live in such a multicultural society. I love the things immigrants bring with them, their culture, food etc. As far as I'm concerned, if someone want to move here to live and work then that's fantastic. In the last 10 years I've worked with people from just about every eastern European nation, I've had an Iranian boss and a Greek boss, my town has loads of Nepalese and Chinese people and out of the shop window at work I see people of every creed and colour under the sun walking past. Today I served the most lovely Sikh chap who spoke little English but made me smile and made my day.
The only people I get sick of are moaning Brits.
Did i hear that right 42 different languages in one school? That was a question I didn't quite here what was said??

They the BBC said they were biased, although I do agree with them?

I remember the last time you went after this, it wasn't that clear cut was it.
seems pretty well balanced to me
is that this years Melah, me and the wife and kids are there somewhere!
Peterpoddy has said it much better than me.
I hope that's a white loaf and not some foreign fruity shite.
Kinda looks like a skinhead popping out to say hello.

Sounds like my school in the mid 1980s. I grew up to be a gay Muslamic swan š

I'm not sure it's all down to you, mate š

Yeah, and don't go making any toast with it, you hear?
I must say that I really enjoyed the culture that certain nationalities have brought to Rome and Barcelona on recent trips.
How nice of them to check that my wallet was on my person and that I had not dropped it.
Seems pretty balanced to me, Vince cable seems surprisingly honest (for a politician)
Plus they said curry will be more expensive if we restrict immigration... So case closed there surely? š
It's almost Orwellian! Terrifying in its bias! I feel like I'm being brainwashed, yet I can't turn it off. The BBC must be doing subliminal shit !
HELP!!! MAKE THEM STOP

Never trust a Belgian!
Wouldn't you have to go to the US to Watch Loony Fox News? AND they are so potty nobody but the militias listen to them.
The curry awards seemed to be a very glitzy affair. I think they would have to roll me out if I attended.

You could try it's slightly more subtle cousin at Sky or the rest of the murdoch press. I wonder why some of these organisations are keen to kill off the BBC. They are doing it over here in Oz too. It's a business strategy.

No, case isn't closed there is no curry house near me. Last time I cycled back from one my curry was freezing cold! So you can close them all down!!!
Cycle a bit quicker then.

Remember Murdoch backed Labour for at least 10 years.
Is the BBC Labour?
Remember Murdoch backed [s]Labour[/s] Tony Blair for at least 10 years.
. Its closed although it probably didn't help that it was a pub and Thai restaurant. I may have missed a turning or 3!!thgray - Member

This is the closest you've come to an argument.

Is the BBC Labour
Yes according to journalists who work for them!
*Applauds PeterPoddy*
Well said, that man.
Remember Murdoch backed Labour for at least 10 years.
Yes, he backs the side that can return the most (and is more likly to win), currently the bet would be with Cameron to help dismantle the BBC and strengthen Sky's position.
Sorry New Labour! It is the BBC that backs New/Old or anything vaguely Socialist!kimbers - Member

Immigration shmimigration, let's throw big stones at Nick Robinson and all feel a bit better.
So SD, what was the program actually like? Is it worth watching? What was the "truth about immigration" or did the BBC not deliver on the promise of the program? Did the program give different sides of the immigration debate? Would you recommend replaying it for students at school?
Sorry for the questions, but it seems an important topic so hope it got a decent airing. Did it?
I didn't watch right to the end but it seemed quite balanced to me. If I were the type to jump to wildly inaccurate conclusions, or to troll Internet forums using various log-ins, it probably wouldn't change my opinion much. Not that much of that kind of thing goes on here of course.

Obviously it was biased but less so than normal. When you have all the Labour big wigs admitting they had cocked it up. Better still the programme fully supported my view that mass immigration has kept wages down if not reduced them particularly for the working class. The whole basis of the decision to allow mass immigration, when the rest of Europe wouldn't was exactly that. As I stated in that other thread! Where it was implied that I was racist for saying so. Back later battery dieing!
Sorry, to be clear was it biased in favour or anti immigration? Given your second sentance was it biased against Labour? Did Theresa May join Jack Straw in admitting mistakes? Apart from the negative impact on wages did it present any positives of immigration? Who's private decisions did it pick on - did they come from both parties?
Again sorry for the questions, but deciding whether to watch it on Iplayer.
I feel it was fairly well balanced, they admitted they miscalculated by a factor of 10 the amount of expected immigration. Interviews with the public ranging from getting people to say that they were willing to pay more taxes to cut immigration, to interviewing slovaks and poles who lived here. He also quized teresa may on the fact indians applying to british universities had dropped hugely.
The next big issue on media bias

Today however, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Peppa and her brother George stand abashed. Revealed for what they truly are: A family of communist, gay rights-loving, monarchy bashing, anti-family, anti-free-market, piggies.
A fairly decent program and remarkably unbiased given that it was presented by the well known [s]tory[/s] trotskyite Nick Robinson
