This is a great offer from NH Hotels. The question is can they legally make a statement that one guest must be aged 18 - 25 or does this discriminate?

Is anyone out there well informed on this sort of thing.

Hope you 18 - 25 year olds take advantage !!

It's not a UK company. I doubt our laws would apply.

They can surely specify whatever the hell they like? I mean they often specify groups of kids can't enter shops and more often than not you can't enter some nightclubs due to your age, no-one goes around policing agism?

"These Rules of Use are governed by Spanish Law" so it will depend how much of the age discrimination stuff is part of european law.

Andy, honestly do you feel that strongly enough about it to highlight the fact they MIGHT be discriminating ๐Ÿ™„

Proposed exceptions to the Equality Act 2010

* age-based concessions such as free or reduced cost travel rights for older or younger people
* group holidays organised around age, such Saga and Club 18-30 holidays
* immigration: age is a factor taken into account in allocating visas
* sport: age-restricted competitions, such as championships for the under-21s
* residential park homes: admission rules
* financial services and insurance products, but only when age is an important factor

If you would like to comment on the consultation, visit the Government Equalities Office website. The consultation runs until 25 May 2011.
