Settings says my homepage is BBC news (correct!) but every time I click on Chrome, Google comes up instead. I do have an Adblocker, if that's of any significance. Does any kind person have any ideas on how to stop Google grabbing my time and headspace by restoring the BBC to its rightful place as my homepage?

Check that; "Settings" - "On Startup" - "Open a specific page or set of pages" is checked.
Click on set pages and make sure that the BBC is set as the only entry.
