does it hide your browsing history from prying eyes or just off your hard drive?

IIRC it leaves no history/trace on the computer. Won't stop remote logs being kept but will stop prying wifes eyes if thts your problem ๐Ÿ˜€

Very much like Bolt on the iPhone. Allows searches without leaving any tell-tale history. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You can surf porn and she won't know (unless she is very good at it).

Doesn't always work properly with all sites. As an alternative have a look at Returnil. It's a freeware program that when activated runs your pc in a virtual mode so that when you restart the pc is in exactly the same state as before you activated it. Do some checks on it first, I've used it for over a year and had no issues with it but someone here might be able to tell me it's sending all my bank account details to some Russian mafia gang. I think I found it at download.com. It's useful for surfing and for testing software especially if your wanting to compare a few alternatives and don't want remnants left once you've uninstalled what you don't want.
just remember not to download your e-mails or photos when it's running.

Browsing in incognito mode only keeps Google Chrome from storing information about the websites you've visited. The websites you visit may still have records of your visit. Any files saved to your computer will still remain on your computer.

Example: If you sign into your Google Account on http://www.google.com while in incognito mode, your subsequent web searches are recorded in your Google Web History. In this case, if you want to make sure your searches are not stored in your Google Account, you'll need to pause your Google Web History tracking.

This is another huge advantage of analogue pornography. Whatever its other drawbacks, it is pretty hard to track down if creatively stored.

Not so good when you're a kid and your mum decides to redecorate your room while you're away on holiday with help from your aunt ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

25+ copies of Club International landed on her head by all accounts when she moved the wardrobe ๐Ÿ˜ณ
