Apples also good this year for the ultimate blackberry accompaniment.

Crumble? - pah

Bramble cranachan
Toast some pinhead oatmeal
Puree a fair amount of blackberries
Add in a spash of whisky
Whip some double cream to soft peaks
Add a skoosh of honey and most of the oatmeal
Pour the cream mix into tall dessert glasses and fold in the blackberry puree
Top with the last of the oatmeal and a couple of berries

Traditionally done with rasps, but far better with brambles IMHO

I was looking for some on the commute yesterday, hardly any of the buggers left! No blackberry wine this year ๐Ÿ™

Cheers,
Jamie

Had apple and blackberry crumble the last two days ๐Ÿ™‚

And that was from the leftover frozen blackberries from last year.

Off to replenish supplies tonight.

(Surprised the above poster reports none left as they're only just starting to become ripe from what I can see).

1.6kg in our fridge from today and yesterday, will probably get more tonight.

I've found a massive bank of brambles that isn't right next to a dog walker path, which appears to not be being picked by many people, unlike all the dog path ones which go at 6am every morning.

There's a huge patch behind my work that no one has access to sadly before going on holiday I reported them as they're causing a hazard for the fire exits.
