Mrs finally passed her driving test at the age of 27 and I promised to take her away for the weekend when she does.

Anyone know of any good Spa hotels in the South West or South Wales.

Ideally not in Bath or Bristol as we have lived in both those cities for the last 10 years

Nant Ddu Lodge very near Brecon is nice enough but not really outstanding, little bit shabby around the edges.

The Cornwall is very nice, good restaurant, good spa but may be further South-West than you'd anticipated.

St Brides, Pembrokeshire, perhaps? Not been, but great location.

Warminster - very nice, fantastic food I went the night after my wedding ... very attractive last minute deals too!

+1 for the cornwall... they have just dropped a huge amount of cash rebuilding it and upgrading the rooms and spa facilities. Just did a w’end away there. Cracking food too.

Plenty in the Brecons as mentioned. Nice area for a stroll too.

Well done to Mrs SJ 🙂

Cowley Manor just outside Cheltenham is beautiful. Don't book rooms in the stable though - the rooms in the original house are much nicer.

And it is a short walk to a lovely real ale pub serving good food (booking essential) too. Can't remember the name of it though.

What he said about Cowley Manor, nice.

Also the Celtic manor just over the bridge is awesome for spa, swim, gym, walks and the retaurants are pretty sweet too!

FWIW, The Malvern Spa is good. Not exactly SW England or Wales though. Could have a good wander on the hills if weather perks up a bit.

Also has bikes and a trail , 24 hour bar and a snooker table. Plus just down the road for you. Celtic Manor is fine if you plan to stay in but nothing else near unless you play golf.

Nant Ddu Lodge - nice place but be prepared to wait a ridiculous time for food in the restaurant.
