I've been to the Hanging Gate a few times and after something similar in the same sort of area. I remember someone mentioning one but can't remember the name, might have had Bell or Door in the title?

If 20 miles counts as the same sort of area ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) then the Royal Oak in Hurdlow is good, and it has a bunkhouse!

Food is excellent and a good range of beers.

Not a local, but I thoroughly enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Monsal Head Hotel when I was up there on holiday a couple of months back.

Good selection of beers and the food was a cut above yer average pub grub, although the prices reflected this.

Might be thinking of the Bluebell at Farnah Green (or the Bear at Alderwasley, the other pub they run) both do pretty decent meals, very good on a good day, although we haven't found them 100% consistent.
