I don't know, but I can look into it for you. Just drop me an email with the username and password for your Gmail account and I'll run it through the system. I can also check your bank accounts for signs of unusual activity if you let me have the details.

What do you mean by "hacking"?

Have they got the passwords to it, or are they/have they brute forced their way in by other means?

thanks flaperon - that'd be great. What's your email? suckers@gullible.com?

I've no idea but when I logged in the other day I had a message from google telling me there had been some suspicious activity on my account & loads of sent email that I hadn't sent. An auto-responder was turned on that I didn't turn on.

Are you absolutely sure that the message from Google, really was from them?

yes - I presume so, as it was when I logged in - I only ever go direct to the website, never click through to it.

I've had that happen with chinese companies doing that with my hot mail account and send out mails to my address book saying, "Hey have you seen these great offers from the Ting Hua technology company" followed by a link

When logged into you Gmail go to the bottom of the screen and just below the bit in green stating how much space you are using there is this..."Last account activity:..." click on the "detail" link and it will give you the IP and time of recent loggins.

Charlie / John - I'd run a malware scan if I were you, just to be on the safe side. Also, change the password (to something secure, -after- the scan).

Yup - I've done that.

Mildly worried it might be my phone that's the weak point - using gmail on 3g on desire.

The last account activity is where I got the original company name from at the top of the post.
