[Closed] Global warming - LOL!
If you find that amusing tyger, I'm guessing that you'll find absolutely hilarious if the Gulf Stream ceases completely and it is no longer there to keep Western Europe ice free during the winter months.
Interpreting weather as climate ๐
Though I do actually object to some comments in that article from people who should know better suggesting that global warming has had a significant influence on it not being worse.
Why is that a LOL?
Why is that a LOL?
My guess it's the old chestnut of 'Global warming' being interpreted as the weather universally getting hotter.
Lets call it climate change dear boy!
LOL because people always take exceptions as the rule - don't misunderstand me, I wasn't being flippant.
One can't draw any conclusions about "climate change" from one winter. That would be stupid. I'm sure the inhabitants of STW know that tho, right? I mean we're an intelligent bunch... ๐
The weather/climate in Britain doesn't matter two hoots really - the temperature over Greenland and the Arctic is what we need to be worrying about.
I think we can start to draw conclusions about the last 13 years. 12 abnormally warm with very little snow ice or frost and then one normal one. I remember walking through 4ft drifts to the post office to get my five 1/2 penny sweets and a comic. Oh how things have changed!
longarmedmonkey, in yorkshire by any chance?

And even the "normal" one was relatively warm.
'in yorkshire by any chance?'
I wish but no I'm a west country boy

Of weather in Britain as evidence of anthropogenic global warming? When the normal warming/cooling cycle is far, far longer than that? ๐ ๐

Curly Wurlys were bigger too. And Wagon Wheels the size of your face!
On this subject, New Scientist is an interesting, if scary, read this week
the UK doesn't have a climate, it has weather....
and lots of it.
