Dunno if anyone saw the stage winner taking a pee earlier in the stage, but the camera did not shy away from his organs.

Seems fitting, given it's the 4 year anniversary of Tom Dumoulin's gastro event.

Anyway, it's great to see Victor Campanaerts win after all the effort he's put into the race so far for himself and his team.

Funnily enough I'd been wondering if it's harder to have a pee in a skin suit than in bibshorts.

Well not ACTUALLY in.

Snowing on the Passo Giau already this morning, will the bad weather protocol be invoked today?

Weather looks a bit challenging today. Suspect they’ll alter the route a bit which is a shame but probably a good call

Official by RAI: Passo Fedaia and Passo Pordoi out of the route. 155 km stage.

https://twitter.com/faustocoppi60/status/1396744648106860544

Still looking for the original source. Pordoi *was* the Cima Coppi as the high point of the race

EDIT - DQS confirm
https://twitter.com/deceuninck_qst/status/1396745381975838724

Edit 2 - this is interesting
https://twitter.com/laflammerouge16/status/1396743031685095429

Looking at the timeline, it looks like the riders wanted to ride it all but they decided to cut it down anyway. Shame as Carthy was up for a bit of a rumble today, an attack on Pordoi might have had some big repercussions. Still, one big hill and a sketchy descent might be enough to make it a good race to watch

Confirmed:

A shorter, 'easier' race might actually end up being quite exciting.

Orla was saying the timings will be taken at the top of the Giau so after that they would only race for the stage.

Has anyone seen that confirmed anywhere?

Picturing the lads huddled together for warmth at one end of the bus like they were the sole survivors in an apocalypse movie.
Do they still have two cars and two DSs? I know they trim back on swannees and mechanics.

Apparently once they start descending we should resume coverage as the 4G signal picks up again. Should be fine as good 4G then until the top of the Passo Giau, but no 4G coverage on the desacent to Cortina d'Ampezzo, so let's hope the plane is up by then

Tejay Van Garderen (EFN): 'We saw the rain and Hugh said, 'We have a chance to win the Giro.'"
Before the stage, Tejay Van Garderen (EFN) spoke of his long experience in the area of today’s stage: “I love… this is my favourite place on the planet. I’ve done a lot of camps here, earlier in my career, staying at… it was a little chalet called Chalet Gerard on top of Passo Gardena, you know? We go to know the family really well, and, you know?, the training is just amazing, the area is incredible, and in 2017 I came to the Giro and I won a big stage in Ortisei going over a lot of the similar climbs, some of the same climbs we’re doing today. It’s one of the best memories of my career, and it’s one of my favourite places to come to. Hugh [Carthy] he… You know?, we woke up, we saw rain this morning, and Hugh said, “we have a chance to win the Giro today.” And, when you have that kind of motivation from a leader who shows such ambition and such confidence, it’s really inspiring and its easy to just back him 100%.
