What time is a gig likely to end if the ticket gives the start time as 18.30? Trying to sort out trains options.

Start time or doors open?
Have been to countless gigs at the (new) Academy and the old Academy/Hummingbird - usually kick out for around 10:45. Aim for main act to come on around 9ish, quick stroll back to New Street for the last train home.
OK cool, last train is at 23.01, should be ok

not been to the new one, is the carpet/floor as sticky as the old academy?
I don't like it as much, but I'm sure after a few years it will take on the smell of the old place. the hummingbird has special memories for me - as well as all the gigs in the early 90's...it was where I lost my virginity 😯
lol using the urinals was always an educational experience, i miss the old academy and Eddies even more 🙁
