[Closed] Getting rid of an old gas fire

We've had an old gas fire taken out of our sitting room; it was in place when we moved in, and we don't have any instructions/paperwork for it.

Am I right in thinking that the only safe option for disposal is to take it to the local tip? Or is it worth trying to sell it on? It worked fine, but we got rid of it because I don't like gas fires.

Equally, I'd rather no-one got blown up because I sold it and it was then fitted wrongly...

Id rather take it to the tip tbh, I wouldn’t like to think of someone getting blown up.

Of course if they used a corgi registered fitter it should be fine surely?

Depending on age may not meet regs, could be wrong here, but an older fire probably wont have a flame failure device so cant be reinstalled by a proper gas fitter. Would be amazed if it was worth it anyway.

Bit like my decent but a bit old gas hob currently sat in the garage as i cant have it reinstalled. My gas fire went to the tip.
