Dear old Nicola and her AUSTERITY mission. Why doesn't she repeat here Indy nonsense that they are the only party that can solve the deficit by cutting taxes and increasing spending. Has she changed her mind or just grown up?

Farage talking about education "only working for the rich elite as they get richer, pulling up the ladder on the rest of us"

Big words for an Eton educated City trader

YouGov result: Sturgeon wins the debate

Its a bad day in the THM household

YouGov result:

Sturgeon 28%
Farage 20%
Cameron 18%
Miliband 15%
Clegg 10%
Bennett 5%
Wood 4%

Absolutely, Junky, absolutely.

Lets buck the trend eh

I thought Dave was impressive and I am seriously considering voting Tory...your turn 😛

Its quite depressing. We are going to be governed by a minority government in a coallition with a party that didnt want to be part of the UK.

Sadly voting for none of them wont count.

Democracy my arse.

It looks like (as YouGov result) the next coalition govt might come from Tory and UKIP because SNP will wipe the floor with Labour while the rest will have difficulty to master enough seats.

Imagine Tory and Labour form a govt ... 😯 😆

Trimix, the irony and hypocrisy is breathtaking isn't it.

Is Natts wearing a Druid medallion?

The only thing I learnt was how pleasant and easy to listen the Welsh accent is.

And I was reminded of how depressing the state of British politics is .... seven party leaders, not one genuine left-winger.

Teamhurtmore - apologies, I listened to my wife shouting at the TV - she is always right in my household! Google does confirm that Farage went to Dulwich College! hardly a barrow boy though!

I'm not sure what that has to do with tonight's TV debate but if we are going to post random stuff here's my contribution :

See if you can figure out what years the Tories were in government.

regardless of who you thought won(I don't particularly care, it's in the eye of the beholder). I was pleasantly surprised by the debate. It was better than my, very low, expectations.

Overall, I think they more or less all came out not bad.

Farage looked very squirmy at one point though. Although he probably appealed to his rabid core support.

I thought stugeon did well, and the fear the tories have been peddling about a lab minority governemnt with the SNP keeping them in check may well be lessoned a little.

I think that's the ultimate outcome. Overall, not a bad night for labour, despite Ed continuing along with his overly coached puppet routine.

My final observation is one that is especially relevant during a general election campaign - that, to quite a large extent, the political debate on the economy suffers from an illusion of control

I agree with that guy

I also agree with what Gary linekar said on twitter

Nice drawing ernie. And I never referred to the Conservative party.

At least my comment is true

Dan, his city career was hardly stellar either!! Like most of the Farrage myths it falls over under scrutiny.

Attending the Jam Pot and Simpsons yes, stellar City career...????????

UKIP were at my station this morning - shame there wasn't time to test him out as train was arriving!!

It's more than just a drawing edward, it's a graph.

Surely one thing we all learn chaps is that the business of running things is best left to the ladies. Leaving us time for a nice bike ride and a pint.

I'm making a statement about employment rates at the beginning and end of terms.

Sure, unemployment was high when this government came to power. Wonder why.

Good question from Rebecca to which no truthful answer. You are the first generation in a while who will face a worse outlook than the previous ones. No escape as your future was mortgaged by the rest of us.

Which was apparently all Ed Milliband's fault. Not sure how he managed that, but I think that's what Clegg said.

Its quite depressing. We are going to be governed by a minority government in a coallition with a party that didnt want to be part of the UK.

Sadly voting for none of them wont count.

Democracy my arse.

Maybe you need a dictionary to look up democracy?

FWIW the SNP and Labour have booth ruled out a coalition with each other, so that won't happen. As for having a number of MP's who don't want Scotland to be in the UK, how is that any different to the UKIP MEP's? Can'y change the system from the outside....

I think you need a hand. Have a look at this :

[img] [/img]

The Tories came to power in 1979 and left in 1997. You will note that unemployment was significantly higher when they left office than it had been when they first formed a government.

BTW you still haven't explained the connection with past unemployment levels and tonight's TV debate?

Just fancied saying something critical about the Labour Party without wanting to comment on the thread's topic?

Current predictions are actually Lab Minority Gov with a good chance of Lab SNP colalition, Alex Salmond as Deputy PM 😆
