Saw this out on a walk today (brownie points with my wife ๐ ) and can't seem to ID it- Looks like a ground beetle but not a Violet Ground Beetle as too small and different shape - cute little thing but I think it was on its way out. Any idea anyone?

I wonder if that is a bloody-nosed beetle. Which is a leaf, rather than a ground beetle.

Don't think it was - well it did not have a red blob under its jaws at any rate? But yes could be a leaf beetle?

I think the Ischnomera cyanea has a much longer and narrower abdomen but colour is spot on ๐
