[Closed] Garmin curious, £400 budget +/- help me decide please

Tempted by a GPS / HR watch and have been looking at the Garmin Fenix 5 which appears to be available for about £385 … looks great tbh but as I am a bit of a map-nerd I'm also attracted to the Fenix 5X which has the additional mapping embedded but it is more expensive at £495 (at Wiggle vs £600 RRP). Wasn't really planning on spending quite that much but am in that dilemma of 'in for a penny in for a pound' - do I spend more to avoid the post purchase remorse of not having the additional spec and enhanced mapping? Does anyone have any experience of either the 5 or 5X that can share their experience? Or should I be looking at anything else in the £350-£450 (or £500 at a push) range? A Suunto perhaps? ** normal mode of operation at the mo is based on a Wahoo Tickr paired to my iphone

🙁 that’s not good. My 5S (orginail series) has been ace over the last 8 months. If I don’t use the GPS battery lasts a couple of weeks. Get about 10 hours out of the GPS (bearing in mind it’s the smaller model).
