The one I wanted is sold out in Ikea. Has anyone bought one they can recommend? I'm a bit wary of buying off tinternet as I can't try them, or see them for that matter. £500- £700 budget.

John Lewis often have nice 'rattan' sofas.
If you can get to an outlet (Swindon) it's often a sale item too..

We have just order the matching side table but I think they come from italy and a long delivery time unfortunately, so you may not get it for this "summer". But worth the wait IMO, really comfy and easy to clean. And stylish/contemporary which suits my garden.
Is it hard plastic or foam?
hard plastic (polyethylene), dont think foam would last too long outside 🙂
