So the foul sewer manhole in the patio at the back has overflowed and made a right mess. Luckily after ringing the water board they’ve confirmed it’s their line as it runs all the way down the street from the top and through all our gardens so I’m sat waiting for them to come out and jet it.

Fuming as I was just about to step out the house for a bike ride after getting fully dressed for it!

I remember when I was a kid our neighbour rodding out his own manhole and the geyser that streamed 6ft in the air when it eventually cleared. Not surprised since that hill was very steep and the back pressure must have been something else.

Good start to the year…

These days he'd have fallen foul of Operation Yewtree.

Well Northumbrian Water turned out and rodded the shit out of it, literally, all that’s left to do now is to bless the patio with holy water and pressure wash the neighbours sweetcorn away.

Had it on our road, fortunately blocked before our house. Neighbour worked for the council and borrowed a set of rods. They opened the man hole between their four houses and the rest of the street (including my house) and it was 'poo brown' to the top. Out with the rods and they cleared it - mainly baby wipes (guess who had a baby - my neighbour).

When we had a static caravan, we had a similar issue, but the crap was coming out from under our van. A blockage someway down the line.
