Al from the average stance of a casual onlooker, the reek of desperation you emit to be classed as THE big hitter is laughable 😉

Surely the demise of the old guard has allowed the new era of Big Hitters to have their 15 minutes of fame. There will always be Big Hitters.

Genuinely interested - does big hitter mean someone who posts a lot, or whose posts are controversial/weighty/shouty?

Who are considered to be the big hitters?

For the people who post very frequently, what are you doing besides posting? Are you security guards or someone else who sits in front of a screen a lot, do you have your phone with you all the time and break off what you are doing to post?

I'm curious (not critical) - I read/post when I'm eating or on days when my back is very bad and I have to lay down a lot.

As the great Brad of Stratford-upon-Avon once opined..

The King is dead! Long live the King!

Big Hitter rhymes with Twitter. Similarly irrelevant? Can't be a coincidence..

Anyway, if Mr Al has now been publicly outed as one member, who are the rest of the shadowy cabal known as the Hitterati?

Common decency demands that we need to be told..

Never mind becoming a big hitter, there's now a Charlie Big Banana category.

Ah yes, Brad, where has he gone? Has he been banned too?

Oh, and congrats on Hitterati

He had a busy year what ending with a knighthood
Not posted as much as usual.

Bit of both - you need a high post count and to be able to argue a point to death- often badly.

Being heavily involved in closed threads also helps your score

It was never a serious point/name but referred to those on here who would argue endlessly on the same subject

For example Whoppit may be one on religious threads but not in general

I dont think it was ever meant to be an insult but nor was it exactly complimentary.

Not sure why the flaming is going on tbh - wannabee big hitters staking a claim 😉

Well without any evidence or clues/answers to what people are posting from al, i'd have to agree.

Odd

The whole Big Hitter thing is a joke, I guess I need to dress it up a bit more ridiculously.

That is probably the saddest thing i've seen you post Al, I knew you were a bit desperate but blimey i didn't realise it had got this bad, starting threads to big yourself up then denying it. You really need to sort yourself out. V sad 🙁

Ironic that the OP accuses someone else/others of buggaring off when challenged, then...

Confused now. Do you want the masses of an internet forum to tell you what a hole you would leave in their lives if you stopped posting?

Yup, I'd miss you.

But then I've met you in real life. Puts a different slant on things.

You'll always be a big hitter to me...

(sniff...)

Thanks Bullie, you're a kind fellow, you even like that wee shite Fred!

This guy gets it I think. I don't want to genuinely upset people, but some (not all) do take things a bit seriously.

Better crack on with it then.

Proper LOLs! 😀

It's a bit sad when you consider posting on forums as a competition.

Most folk think posting on a forum is sad - now we have posters on forums deciding motivations for when it becomes sad 😕

You only say that because you know you aren't going to win.
