Stranded at night very high up on a chairlift.Lift system has stopped. No one around. Bad weather. No comms / mobiles etc. 2 snowboards, 1 pair of ski's,2 ski poles, one helmet and a lighter. 3 of you. Resort closed for the week. Hungry killer wolves below.
I'd strap two boards over / under the lift cable and slide down as far or low as possible, one chair at a time. If jumping at a better point I'd ride the snowboard down.
what would you do?
I'd ski/board down the mountain. I've done it many times in fog/cloud where visbility is a few metres, why not at night?
stuck on chairlift.
Easy. Rail slide all the way down the cable, backflip off the bottom cable station.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Jump
I was stuck on a chair swinging wildly in a crazy storm for 45 minutes above the Fernerhaus at Hintertux in Austria.
I honestly thought I was going to die there, either through falling off the swinging chair, or freezing to death.
It wasn't pleasant.
There wasn't any wolves though ๐
I would reach for the hip flask I carry when in the mountains. I would then fashion a rudimentary parachute from my voluminous ski pants and base-jump to safety whilst winking knowingly at the beautiful young snowboarding Alpine hussy hanging from my shoulders.
Get everyone to take jackets, trousers, tops, belts, packs etc off. Knot the together to form a rope.
Lower myself as low as possible then droopy the rest with my snowboard still on.
Land without my legs inexplicably exploding then fight the wolves
good idea gs
good grief ng

Sorry, missed that bit. I'd grab one of the other guys, throw us out of the chair and land on him. Sledge his dead body down to the bottom where I'd leave him to be eaten by the wolves while I nip out for a few beers.
WIN WIN
lol.
