Well it was 9C on fridge temp screen as a fuse blew.
Milk seemed cool but fridge was off for 8hrs (frozen food seemed frozen still)/
Is it safe?
Personally if frozen stuff was still frozen and you had no raw meat out thawed I'd be happy to just use it. If any frozen stuff had thawed I'd just cook it.
If the door was left shut then yes it should be OK as the insulation should have kept the cold air in
Most stuff will be OK. Stuff on or near sell by date, or cooked food needing reheating, I would chuck, just to be on the safe side really
Thanks Guys!
Don't throw anything away it should all be fine. Eat it, if your ill it's bad but you'll drop some weight with all the both end toilet visits (it's what I'd do). If you stay healthy then those sell by dates are lies and mostly they are.
Happy eating.
When I was a lad ๐ everything was always out of the fridge all the time - we didn't have one
I do sometimes wonder with some of the questions I see on here ๐
Yes of course it'll be safe.
What do you expect to happen in 8 hours in an insulated box that starts from cold?
Until last month i never owned or had a fridge, and if food went off, tough, id throw it away,if it smells dodgy chuck it,especially chicken,if left unchilled,or if any body fluids have dripped onto food below.
I noticed the tandori chicken had yellow stuff in the bottom of the packet but I ate the top stuff that was clear but it did chew differently but binned the rest.
I had the milk till it tasted sharp the next day.
Chucked my yoghurts as they looked and smelt off.
I guess it's a case of sniff or bin.
Seriously I didn't know what would happen so I asked on here!
