Last fridays good deed was helping a young Polish couple who were stranded with this while pulling into the Waitrose and Asda car parks in Weston:

Ball joint had been recently replaced by a "mechanic", hence the nice new nylocs on the wishbone. (although the balljoint looks old!) Pinch bolt was still tight and the small indentation on the top chamfer of the pin and the damage on the balljoint from hitting the disc would suggest to me that they didn't push the ball joint all the way into the hub carrier before tightening.
They were bloody lucky they were not on a motorway.
Went over to the Asda petrol station and asked if we could borrow some cones as lots of people were nearing hitting them coming round the corner and then went over to see if I could help.
They didn't have any breakdown cover and everyone else was just squeezing past them giving them dirty looks for blocking the road. Tried 2 local break down companies who were less than helpful so in the end we opted for the AA and got them towed to the garage who does my MOTs.
They had only been in the UK for a few weeks and I felt embarrassed by how little help they were offered by passers by and the towing companies.
Friday? Helped a mate out by taking him to lady cannings to work on his cornering. While there, we came across a mother and daughter who had become separated and daughter had come off and get herself tangled/trapped under the bike. Helped her up and coached her back down to mum.
Thoroughly nice chaps, us.
Bought the "extra" round in the pub last night... soft as clarts as they say up north
Gave an old colleague a lift home in my car. ๐
Not torn off the new (to the team, not the company) girls head in a rageImagine a 'made in Chelsea' type girl, impossibly posh accent, chronically stupid (or does a very good job of pretending to be) mega rich mummy and daddy, born and bred in Harrow-gate, dahling.
She. Will. Not. Shut. Up.
marry her...it'd be the ultimate good deed and then you can complain about her on the other thread about partners doing annoying things ๐
