Looking for recommendations for places no more than 3 or 4 hours from Calais. Not looking for anything fancy just a nice campsite in an interesting area. Kids are 9 and 13.

We've stayed in Le Crotoy and close to the Reserve Naturelle Nationalle de la Baie de Somme. The coastline there is great, the bay itself is hugely attractive, Le Crotoy is a very pretty seaside town, and most importantly most of the Brits haven't quite reached cruising speed in their silver, leased German autobahnwagens. We were in Le Crotoy just before Easter and it was nearly 30C and bright sunlight.

Is it for an overnight stop or for longer?

We stayed in the municipal site at Arques which is about 45-60 minutes from Calais. Pretty cheap as well. There's a play area but no pool or anything like that. Can't comment on stuff to do in the area as we were only there for an overnight stop.

Only going for a week so we'll only be staying at the one place I think.

We were on our way here ( https://bois-guillaume.com/). Google says 4hr45mins but well worth it.

It's properly out of the way and you will need a grasp of French. Lovely site, nice and quiet with an outdoor pool. Some ace places nearby to visit as well. We went to Guedelon while we were there which is really good for kids as well as adults. Auxerre is not far away as well which has some nice places to mooch about.
