A 500m sandbank sticking out 3/4 of the way across the bay, quite cool as its only a few inches deep the whole way.

Hugin is free, you can easily find it on google. But, here is what im really gonna say, free doesn't mean the best. I heard AcroPano Panorama software from ""photo forum"". I am not saying its the best one, but it works so well for me. Choose whatever fits you best.

+1 for Hugin. Used it the other day with a iPhone to get a decent panorama:

I tried out a few just the other day, I got the best results from ICE. It also allows you to do groovy stuff like [url= http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=e49961f6-9a72-4d0b-a798-d9cfc7c73177 ]this[/url].
