I used to mix the ketchup flavour with something else (I'm going to say cheese and onion) for a quite unique and in retrospect probably repulsive flavour

Are you guys googling for pictures of empty crisp packets or are we witnessing some truly weird collections being aired?

@ Coyote - it's the weird collections...

... probably courtesy of this gent:

Isn't that one with the blue fella on it (far left) a Monster Munch?

* remembers having just enough money to buy a Monster Munch and a Wham! bar after swimming at Aberystwyth pool back in the day. Gets moist and misty eyed *

sparkola- you're a bloody legend!

I've procured a big pack of Oddities. They didn't have the salt n vinegar, so I got cheese and onion, and they're a taste sensation. Result!!!

*applauds brakes for introduction of the word 'ocrispianado'*

Anyone else used to shrink the empty bags down in the oven ( like shrinky dinks)?

Absolutely not Dezzy. It's an ambition rather than a statement. I've never even seen those before. I'm liking the look of Pork Crunches though. Where would I procure such delights? This is the most educational thread ever.

All suggestions for any other savoury snacks I've never tried, lets 'ave 'em! 😀

The hardcore crisp addicts among us are still pining for the Really Ruthless Crisps...

Bring them back!

Snack machine bloke at my local swimming baths when I was a kid was stocked with these. Took about 4 months for them to sell

If its poncey crisps that are required - I normally lean towards the opposite end of the pricing spectrum - then these are where its at..

Frazzles never went away so not really retro you can buy them in pretty much any supermarket.

I love Frazzles 🙂 They sell the small bags in our local esso station. The king of crisps is Kettle Chips Buffalo Bleu but I haven't been able to find them over here yet, only got em in Canada. Pretty sure the main ingredient is crack, bit moreish.

Personal favourite and ones I wish I could still get more readily were the brannigans beef and mustard flavour.

BEAUTIFUL crisps, that made my eyes water.

Try your local boot sale... There's usually some selling some close to BBE date crisps there.

They have no place in this discussion.

The new Monster Munch is but a pale imitation of the proper 70's original.

They are indeed back to their 1970's heyday best now that they're the proper size again.

What about those ‘Wigwams’. Triangular shapes salted biscuit crisps things, they were great. Oh and those Fish n Chips, saltsville or what, but they were great. M&S do something similar to the Wigwams but they are cheese flavour I think, not the same.

Roast beef monster munch are good for a change but I still reckon flamin hot is the best flavour.

I remember MM as having much more of an MSG coating way back then.

Yeah that was a laugh, not as easy now as most crisp packets are foil backed for freshness so that bit doesn't shrink and it all goes wrong. Used to use them as keyring fobs

If they've removed the MSG then they're essentially a health food
