Having brought out an old frame from retirement recently (I say old, it's just over a year old), i've noticed that the shock has developed a gritty noise internally on compression, almost like the chamber has been contaminated with sand or something - any ideas if this is a *really* bad sign? or something a service will solve?
I've checked the pivot bolts, cleaned them and regreased them - the noise is *definitely* coming from inside the shock.

Take the air can off and give it a clean (or grab new seals too)
