So if I put on a couple of kilos I'll be officially obese. Warming up the application to the fat club as we speak.

BMI take no account of muscle bulk. My BMI is around 24 but I am 5'!0" with a 31" waist / 36"chest. Hardly fat. I just have someone else's muscular legs

International rugby players are around 30 bmi

You won't be obese. You'll be overweight until you hit a BMI of 30.

I am obese as well apparently... BMI of 31.1

It's a bloody stupid measure in my opinion, because of it I was rejected from the Aussie Army until I could drop down to 80kg (I currently weigh in at 92kg). The only way I could hit 80kg would be if I got down to 0% bodyfat!

Blame it on your muscly thighs, ton. It's the STW way. Then dis the whole simple BMI idea because it doesn't apply to honed athletes like yourself.

In Oz they are pushing a new measure - waist measurement. Regardless of height they say a man should have a waist of no more then 94cm and 80cm for a woman. Over that there is increased risk of people laughing and pointing at you.

Quite a blunt instrument I expect.

Apparently Australia has overtaken the US as the fattest nation on earth.

26.9, looks like another haircut and a close shave. God knows what it was when i was 2 stone heavier and sprint training/playing rugby.

Actually it was 32 and obese, nice.

You need to put the chicken down before you get on the scales!

I think Lawrence Dellaligo's BMI was nearer 38 & Jona Lomu's over 40 ... I have no intention of telling either that he is a chubby lard arse

****************************cough 26.something*

although if my scales are to be believed I lost 6lb on a diet of friji milkshakes, fruit smoothies, gin, tonic and BBQ's last week! And not in healthy proportions!

Stuff the 'experts', i'm aiming for another 4lb this week, hopefully a fair ammount of that will be fat and leg muscle as I'm leaving cycling be for a year or so to let my knee fully recover. So a reduction in my monster quads will hopefully help that.

Lomu's BMI was actually (while playing) 31.5 - he was 266lbs and 6ft 5.
I'm 234lb and 6ft 1. I'm 30.6. I'm a smidge overweight, like 20lbs overweight...

You bat fastard! 21.3 for me. Although that's with a 'winter belly'. I've lost a bit of muscle tone, as I jolly well have not been swimming in a while. I expect to put on weight, when I get back into it.

Perfectly healthy, me!

Just lost a kg to 95kg heading back to 80kg and training for sportives next year.

I was 101kg in Jun and 82 in Nov then desk job and cookies...

Huffing and panting uphill when I would laugh it Nov.

Going food shopping later-healthy food and no junk.

I can lose it quick and easily but easily gain it.

GF wants me trim by July 7th I reckon I can shift 12kg to 82kg.

Mmm chocolate..doh!

i seem to be able to gain/lose about 2.5kg i a month or so, but beyond that i've not managed to maintain the weight loss regardless of how little i eat. Aim with th ecurrent fat club is to loose as much weight as physicaly possible i 12 weeks, then hit the gym hard and put it back on as muscle.
