We've got a 2014 s max and the sensors have just stopped working. I get a long tone when i start it, and then if I put the sensors on it just flashes on the switch and doesn't work.
Any remedies?
Have you tried cleaning them?
My Smax parking sensors used to stop working all the time if they got dirty, something i've never had in other cars.
Give them a wipe and see what happens.
^ that, clean them regularly.
That said, ours started oxidising and then gave up the ghost after 12 years and 165k.
Chris - ignition on, engine off, in reverse. Put your ear right next to each sensor and you should hear a faint clicking from each sensor, if not likely that sensoe is faulty and needs replacing or cable has disconnected etc.
